Hi All... Got a couple of W204 Questions for everyone...

Hey there...

Have been following the forum with some interest now ever since booking (my wife's) C230 (W204).

Thing is, I'm currently residing in Malaysia and since it's my wife's daily driver, we bought it in Malaysia. Estimated wait-time is about 2months (which is near agony), and I'm spending most of my time surfing around looking for what's currently available for the car.

Currently I have a few questions.

1) Has anyone here with a W204 (with COMAND APS) installed the sub-module (aftermarket) allowing Video-In-Motion? I'm actually thinking of doing so (since the whole thought of only being able to watch DVDs at a standstill is quite irksome). Whilst i know the implications of watching it on the 7" screen (ie. illegal), it brings me to my next question...

2) Does/has anyone installed the 2x LCD headrest screens for the rear passengers. I've checked the ICE forum already, but can't really find anyone who has thought of doing so here yet. My point would be that if at all possible to keep the Video stream/controls from the stock HU and just port the image to the rear monitors.

3) Does anyone with COMAND APS have any comments about the GPS function? How are the maps? I'm currently using a garmin unit (which I love). Does anyone know how much the update DVDs usually are?

4) Is Keyless Go a Dealer fitted option or a factory one? I've tried googling until I'm blue in the face, but can't find a straight answer. It's something that I'm quite disappointed didn't quite make it over the border.

The GPS is great. Very accurate. The voice command is clear and precise. The maps looks better than a garmin. C & C quoted me SGD 1980 for maps update.

Much appreciated on the response... Especially on the GPS thing. Do the maps have Points of Interest, or just a basic Street Name?

Called C&C today about the Keyless Go... They told me the same thing; Factory fitted. Oh well, maybe my next car I guess.

it does show you the point of interests.

So far so good. It makes the GPS on my dad's E class looks crappy

Hehe, thanks for the reply again Normal_SX, Good to hear that POI's are supported.

But be honest, do you actually use Navi that often (or at all?) Have you noticed any problems with the mapping as yet?

Have you considered or done any other mods for the COMAND? (ie. Video in Motion) as yet?
