Steering wheel issue

Hi all,

I just got my car for less than a month. When I insert the key last night, the steering wheel did not return to its' preset position. The motor made a funny noise but it didn't move. I'm too busy to go and let them check. So if possible would like to solve it myself. Any kind advice? Thank you

Was this an isolated incident? Did you retry and get the same result?

I remember an option from the dash called Easy Entry or Access or something to that extent. Setting that option to On causes the steering wheel to return to its highest position when you leave the car and back to its stored original position when you enter. Perhaps you may wish to try toggling with that option and see if the situation resolves?

Can you manually adjust?

Yup, manual adjustment is possible.

Thanks for the advice. Easy access is on. It is now unable to return to the stored position after going all the way up.

The scenario you're describing don't sound normal. Perhaps your only choice is really to send it down to the service centre to get it checked out...

Erm...don't think I'm capable of that. Anyway, just an update. It's working again. Will observe further. Thanks all for the inputs

Oh that's good news. If the problem re-surfaces, you may wish to consider sending it in for some checks since your car is still very new.

Mesmerize? Like to a lady? Lol!

A vehicle is usually refered to in the feminine gender, so mesmerizing her would get a lot more out of her & her components often function correctly. Works for me, what about u?

Modern technology with auto-correct does help sometimes, other times it is f****.

This is another issue, not sure if you have it. start the car,(preferably at a quiet place ) turn the steering left or right both ways. Do you hear some "grr grr" sound, very faint and soft and sound like the gear of the steering rubbing each other or sound like some ball bearing wearing out from inside the horn?... Sometimes i hear this otherwise everything is ok and steering turns fine...not sure if the sound is normal

I am unsure of this issue, as my music is usually on rather loud. Maybe I will go try and update you.

On a side note, this is rather embarrassing. There is nothing wrong with the steering wheel. It will not shift to its' preset position if the door is not closed properly. I am sorry for the false alarm

Bro, i got the same problem. Brought back and the agent told me the motor is faulty and needed to change. Since is under warranty, ask them to change it for you. = )
