Brake Pad change

Red Devil

Recommended Posts

about 2 months ago I went C&C (Panda) for 30K servicing. There the SA told me the front brake left 10% & rear 30%. He mentioned the front can last abt 1 mth, and advised to return for change when the indicator show.

waited 2 months still did not see indicator, so I bought my parts (stock) and went to outside workshop to change. Surprised to see the front pad still have abt 40% to go (i compared the thickness of the existing vs new) ... since make all the way there, changed lor ... :(

C&C advice really bad (cos they wanna make money?) or to them 30% left is the threshold for brake to work ?

sigh ... I have learned how to assess the wear-rate liao .. subsequent changes I will check myself ...

Just to share :)

To be fair, he didn't push you to change them & he told you to wait till the sensor is activated before changing. By eyeballing it, the 20% difference is acceptable lah.

Yah, he did not push too hard, though he encouraged me that since I have staff discount, it would be worthwhile to change ... as if without staff discount, no need to change :P
