Smart Power is to supply the power from the vehicle's battery and permits the black box which is at startup of the vehicle or the vehicle's parking mode to work smoothly as a power supply unit in order to prevent the vehicle's discharge of the battery voltage, by the low voltage (user sets voltage rating) or the timer (user sets max recording time) which will automatically block the power supply into the black box.

The gps can b a disadvantage sometimes.

When used with the smart power, then cigg charging cable need not be used?

Also, can any player be used to playback the files or similar to the blackvue, a propietory player is used?

Hi Hatch,

Yes the power cable will connect directly to smart power and you can customise the wiring to hide it behind the a-pillars ($30).

Similarly, to play the AC1 videos you need to install the dedicated player provided by Cowon. It comes with the package.
