Hi folks,

I sold my W204 C180K in 2011 and now with a bimmer F10 523i. Thinking of coming back to the W212 E250 CGI 7G tronic.

1) Not sure what the best deal at C&C.

2) I was told face lift model arriving soon, in 2013?

3) Not sure worth the wait and also what are the improvements?

4) C&C say the E250 now is 7G tronic plus. (sure?)

5) how's the ride?

I like my F10 comfort and the straight 6 but it lack torque unless I engage sports. But will be jerky between gears at low speed. Couldn't get the mid torque. sian....

One key attraction for me to come back to a Benz is the stable and good resale value.

Comments and advise anyone? thanks :)

Coincidentally, was owner of a BMW 523i F10 (and pre FL C200K W204 before the BMW in 2011) .. and yes, the E Class will have a facelift in 2013/2014 which will see a lower resale value in future.

Had tested the different makes, eg. Audi A6 2.0T, Jaguar XF 3.0 V6, Infiniti M37 and Lexus GS variants (diff days; 6 hrs at least in total) .. finally chosen the GS 350 F Sport.

The BMW was a quieter ride even when stressed as compared to the new sporty GS. It's also faster than the GS250 off the line, as the in line 6 delivers power instantaneously. However, the GS is easier to handle and relaxing to drive .. esp with the new suspension setup, it's easier on my bones when going over humps and the F Sport "sport +" going around bends is a breeze. The specs from "premium" are also much better than my stock BMW. If you just need a comfort ride and good specs, the GS250 "premium" will do just fine .. some aftermarket light tune will be enough to make it more responsive. For me, the GS250 will not be able to tempt me over from my BM .. but now I am a happy owner of the GS350 F Sport .. the power and engine/exhaust with "sport +" on .. is addictive and always put a smile on my face .. priceless

Have been driving the car for more close to 2 months now .. choice of luxurious comfort or sporty drive at the twist of a knob .. handling of the car is fantastic .. power without control is useless and Lexus has done well in this aspect with the "sport +" mode .. always looking forward to enjoy my next drive : )

I own a GS300. Not the new model. But before buying it, was choosing between Merc E and Bmw 5 also. Never regret choosing the Lexus. Can drive the

whole day and its still really comfortable on the body. It would appeal to a older set of drivers. The specs of the car are also much better than either of the

German makes. Was contemplating changing to the new GS350 F sport too. But the old GS300 is still great to drive after six years.
