Just want to confirm with you again!

U have

Tyre Pressure Loss Warning System or

Tyre Pressure Monitor System?

The former do not have sensor in your wheel while the later has?

If it's the later, U likely have to reset your TPMS.

If it's the former, just ensure the tyre pressure are kept to the specs.

It's an option for some MB models as informed by CnC.

If U are interested in Tyre Pressure Monitor System & not Tyre Pressure Loss Warning System - U might want to contact them!

Dear Mr. Seah

Thank you for your enquiry via our Mercedes-Benz website on 12 May 2011.

With regard to your query, kindly be informed the Tyre Pressure

Monitoring System is an optional item. With reference to your vehicle

sales agreement, we noted that you did not opt for this system. As such,

your vehicle was not delivered with the Tyre Pressure Monitoring system.

Please be informed that your vehicle does comes with the Tyre Pressure

Warning System, which is a standard feature of the vehicle. For this

system, the sensor would reference the wheel with one another and when

one is different from the other, the instrument cluster would prompt the

driver that there is a flat tyre.

With reference to the Tyre Pressure Warning System, it is not required

to purchase any sensors when the rims were changed.

We hope that we have answered to your queries accordingly and wishes you

an enjoyable weekend.

Yours Sincerely,

Most of our MB car comes with Tyre Pressre Lost Warning System - meaning there's no sensor in the rim.

In the event of a tyre puncture, the different in car tyre pressure with the rest of the tyres - there will be a warning message!

So if U are rotating tyres, just make sure the tyres are correctly inflated.

yes, i have encountered that before in my W212...the red warning message came on to ask you to check your tyre pressure...you need to reset after you have patched the tyre.

When you have an under inflated tyre, the outer circumference will be smaller and the wheel will be rotating a little faster than the rest. Imagine using a spare 15" tyre with the remaining 17" tyres and you can see that the spare tyre will rotate faster than the rest. The ABS/ESP sensor will detect this wheel rotating faster and give the driver a warning.

Sometimes the TPLWS does not work even when you have a punctured tyre as was my case. I sent my car for tyre rotation and they found a nail embedded. When they pulled out the nail, air gushed out. Perhaps not too much air was lost when it was punctured. But on another occasion, it worked like a charm.:clap2:
