My first servicing for 15k is due in another 1900km or so. I think I'll get hold of the service menu and cancel those unneccessary stuff like topping up of windscreen wiper fluid etc. Also going to opt for Mobil1 engine oil. Anything else I should look out for?

Do look out for the new C coupe ya. Ask them no need to "clean yr engine" which they couldn't explain how the cleaning job is being done. Also let them know in advance that you are here solely for servicing. If any mula (cost) involve ask them call u directly for advance before proceed the job.

Thanks for the tip, bro. :) I am going back to Pandan Loop for my servicing. The guys there know the history of my car so I guess it'll be better if I went back to them. I'll keep a lookout for the new C-Coupe but I doubt it will be on display at Pandan.

FYI:

For C Class servicing there always a charge of S$60.00 for "To Perform short test and carry out engine compartment wash". I have asked them many times and told them NOT to carry out. But their reply is ITS MUST BE DONE as they use STAR diagonise equipment to check yr car......

So my conclusion, I think they just add in the wording " engine comparment wash" to justify $60 and not just for STAR Diagonise alone....i dont think they actually wash yr engine compartment. Maybe they did some cleaning...

Anyway I am going in for my 2nd service 30,000km on Monday at Alexandra....

Will tell them just do SERVICE A. No need top up washer fuid $5.90, Engine flush $46.00, Fuel additive $20.82 which i was being charge on 1st service!!!!! Dont know what engine flush they did for and charge me two litres at $23/litres x 2 = $46....

Also dont know what Fuel additive and charge $20.82

Haha anyway learn my lesson.

Yap, just like I've said they couldn't explain the engine cleaning job & yet they want to charge? I m not fussy coz I do my own engine cleaning too. So I want to know what kind of method they apply & learn from them. Since they couldn't explain so I told them don't bother in future. True enough & lucky for me, I went in only once for the servicing :)

would anyone please scan and reproduce the invoice which C&C gave in order to show the different types of ala carte items which all adds up to a bomb for C&C servicing?

Guess that will be helpful in educating all forumers.

So pls advise if need to go or mobil 1 engine oil for c180cgi?

Pros and cons?

IMHO, if you don't drive like formula one, any engine oil is the same. The house pour in C&C is good enough.

Mm.. If I like to step quite a fair bit?

So a better engine oil like mobil 1 results in? Faster response? Better fuel consumption?

Isn't that what I said earlier?? Haha!

Anyway, from previous threads, it seems like C&C can let you bring your own oil. Then you can buy whatever oil you want and bring it there if you don't like the house pour lor. Do a search!

Hey guys, I did my first 15000km servicing today. Booked the appointment last week. Sent the car in at 10.30am. Got it back at 6pm. I requested that they do some troubleshooting on the winding mechanism for the wing mirrors as they "whine" when folding/unfolding. The whole left wing mirror got replaced. No sounds thus far. Also got them to look at the rattling/squeaking sounds from the glovebox hinges. They did some lubricating and I haven't heard much from that area while driving around today. Did wheel rotation too. As for the engine oil, I asked for mobil 1 synthetic. Bill came up to 408 and some cents. Quite ok, I guess. :)

Does the car feel smoother and faster now?

Bro, this is routine servicing, not tuning. The car drives as smooth as when I first got it. Nothing too different this whole time. Faster? Depends on your right foot, I guess. :)

If U are toking abt Shell Helix and Mobil 1 may not able to tell the diff.

A few mths back, I sent my Prado 3.0 TDI for servicing at a new mechanic.

Forgot to tell them I use Mobil 1 from day 1, they replaced the oil with AGIP normal mineral engine oil.

The moment I drove the Prado, I realised I did not has Mobil 1 in the engine.

Gear shift was not smooth and engine a tat noisy.

Last week did a Mobil 1 change - a world of diff.

Engine smooth, Power linear and a much quieter engine.

BTW I did my 1st servicing when my W212 was 6 mth at MBC with Mobil 1 oil change.

Total was also $400+ inclusive of some non routine checks.

Can't really tell... Perhaps the car is still new (I got it on October 1st last year), about 6 months old... The transmission hasn't given me any problems thus far... "shiok" or not? Got to ask the engine... Hahaha...
