Hurricane is a stainless steel mesh filter ? If so I really wouldnt reccomend it especially if youre gonna keep your car for long. The stainless steel mesh does not filter out the smaller particulas of dirt that comes through.

I just cleaned my k&n air filter horrible mat of smaller dirt all came out. No way a stainless steel mesh type gonna filter that. Engine oil dirty is 1 thing. How much damage all these small bits of dirt which acts like sandpaper will do to your engine internals like pistons and cylinder heads is aother factor to consider.

one of my friend used this Hurri filter and guess what? the filter got choked up and causes the engine to stall ...

went to the agent, the service guy guesses and it was caused by a filter problem, took it out, put the original one back, and the car worked like a dream afterthat....

That is some good advice there on the after-market air filter, for example this brand being discussed here. Hmmm...what about other popular brands like K&N filters? It is always marketed that these filters allow more air to get through, thereby, increasing the air flow for a better combustion. If so, would that naturally mean that more "dirt" gets into the engine?
