Collected my car

Collected my car on Friday.

Gorgeous machine in red with the gray rims

But unfortunately, the left parkng sensor kept coming on even when there were no obstacles anywhere near the car.

The mechanic managed to rectify that in a jiffy - something to do with the front number plate (or so they claim)

The drive itself is not too bad - a lot harsher than my C200K - and there were a lot more rattling sounds (especially when I put the car in reverse)

Also, the car tends to shift up way too fast - maybe a ROM update can change that - but I love the paddle shifts...just drop a gear and it overtakes eagerly

Then this morning, the right parking sensor came on like every 30 seconds until I switched it off

Going to have to send it back for them to have another look and also rectify the rattles

Collected mine last Thursday. Mountain grey.

Interior space upfront is not too back but rear is a little problem with taller passengers.

Yeah, ride is not that comfortable - bumpy sort of compared to my ex C180 but overall still acceptable.

The Hold Function seems erratic and doesn't always activate. The Parking Assist seem useless to me; I find I park more effectively the old fashion way .

Keep posting brother!

As for the hold function, i prefer once activated, it will Hold the moment it comes to a complete stop. This function is available on the F10 5 series which i enjoyed most. legs weak...no need to depress the brake pad so many times on Singapore roads... :startle:

Collected my car on wed. Coming from my old IS250, its about the same size internally. Seats are less comfortable. Engine not as smooth as 2.5 V6 but quite the same responsiveness. A bit jerky when going up slope at low speed due to the gearing.

Save on roadtax

Ok, quick update

Sent in my car last Friday to fix the rattling sound and the front parktronic sensor

Apparently there were some brackets that were loose (according to the SA) - I was like "Hello, this is a NEW car"

Anyway, still got some sporadic rattling sound from the dash

Definitely not that well put together as the C class

Seen two today one black one white. Gotta say its really a handsome ride. Drivers of both cars looks "young". Gone are the days where Mercedes are being associated with old-unker-tauke with bellies....

i am a typical young Merc driver. Under the Young Driver's Scheme from insurance stand point :) Forever Young !!!!! :D

Hi xtrocious,

Is yours the CLA200? Did your SE make you sign a form that you have to use only 98RON petrol and nothing lesser, otherwise your warranty will be void?

Did anyone of you have problem with the integrated reverse camera and GPS supplied with the car?

Mine has a lot of "snowing" on the screen, fidgeting and freezes. Brought car back to C&C yesterday. Their contractor Tomo-CSE claimed to have replaced th faulty equipment but today I got back all these problems and worse...the reverse camera no longer works.

Scheduled to return next Monday for a specialist check. Any idea what is the problem?
