Reverse Camera

Recommended Posts

Had mine locally installed by C&C (freebie). Alas the alignment isn't straight. Went down to the installer who tried to correct it but was unable to coz claim that because of certain issues, camera has to be installed at the side instead of centre of boot. Anybody else having same issues? Those who have installed locally with no alignment issues can recommend me your installer.

How do u define as misalignment? I didn't really notice as I use it mainly to check for objects behind e car while reversing, not for parking into lots.

Mine is fixed at e same location as e bro posted too.

You guys really have eagle eyes. Mine was done more than 5 months back and I've never noticed if the camera is slanted. Will go check mine out later!

Me too, I still use the old fashion 3 mirrors for parking and a glance at the reverse camera screen to make sure no small children/animals hiding near to the rear bumper.

I parked my car perfectly perpendicular to a wall and took a closer look at the screen this morning.

Yes, the silhouette of the bumper is not perfectly parallel to the wall. It’s exactly same as what you see on your screen like the photo below but slightly better.

p/s: mine is a FL C180, camera install at the right side of the boot lid.

Due to the position of the camera (ie: on the right side of the number plate instead of be center) the view may not be extactly center. Just train yourself to compensate for the misalignment lor. Aim off, like firing off sniper rifle, you need to compensate for heat, wind direction, flight time and target distance. In this case, very simple, compensate for the alignment to the kerb.

Actually, do you guys really depend on the reverse camera to reverse and align your cars? I find the mirrors more useful and only take occasional glances towards the reverse camera just to check if there's anything obstructing.

mine is aligned correctly - which is to say, while it is mounted oft-centre, it is actually straight.

actually the camera is very good to check the car behind clear of obstruction during reversing, there are many times when the reverse camera help to prevent expensive bumper repairs. This becomes more important when my wife drive. So, in addition to reverse camera, I also asked for 4-point reverse vision as freebie.

I used my reverse cam when i do run lion thingy inside my car. In case some pevert peeping from the rear. So alignment is not an issue. Orh ya, so blackvue or finevue is not a good idea. The evidences will go against you!!

That's my point! The aids are there simply to help prevent hitting into things when reversing.
