Aiyo no response ...doubtybe you have to check with the VAG group Touareg owners. Basically the same car less the badge.

Thk for the reply. Understand Q7/ Touareg/Cayenne shared the same platform. But I doubt they using same type of gearbox.

Was discouraged by my buddy who used to work at PA on getting the Q7 due to the gearbox. Not too sure about the VW DSG on the touraeg. Thk.

Touareg 3.6 V6 or Audi Q7 3.6L and Cayenne 3.6 all uses the same engine and gearbox. 6 speed auto for those pre-2009 cars. Later cars uses 8 speed auto. Non of them uses DSG.

These huge cars weighs quite a lot, probably near 2 ton. Their gearboxes have to haul the heavy weight, so after some years they need to be overhauled (worn out).  For used car buyers, this is the risk but since the price is a great discount from new car, just budget $5K for gearbox overhaul. Most European gearboxes could not last 10 years, so someone along the ownership will get to foot the bill.

Original Porsches are using those flat 6 engines.  Any of those Porsches that are using non flat-6 engines are sourced from their parent company VAG. Happy shopping.. :)
