Hi any b class owner have this problem?

nope. no such problem

though i suspect your have (1) set the thermostat too cold (good temp is 22 degrees), and (2) you have opened the air vents.

Is normal....... wrack it hard a few more time should not have anymore

I wacked my previous B170 quite hard but still it takes more than 1 year to clear this bloody smell.....multiple trip to C&C and left car overnight there also not solving the problem.

Hi guys,

1st post on this forum. Sharing my experience on this topic

Been driving a 09 B180 for the last 4 months.

Noticed this foul smell as well esp during acceleration to abt 4k rpm on S mode.

Drove on NSH during Xmas long weekend, experienced this problem as well during the drive as well.

No time to bring to workshop to have it checked out. Hopefully whack couple more times, problem will just clear up itself.

I don't know if its my mind playing tricks but the first few times the foul smell was quite bad but subsequently when I accelerated harder, the smell became fainter... somewhat lesser pungent...

hoping that if by reaching the higher rpms a few more times whatever causing this smell will clear up.

if not will need to find time to get it checked out.

why would whacking the car dissipate the foul smell????

According to the bird passing down my window last time is due to catalytic converter is not fully burnt once is burnt the smell should be gone.

Mine was so bad last time when I step on pedal to metal to and engine rev goes beyond 4k (car still few days old) the smell will inundated the cabin until I stop at road shoulder and check the engine bay since I was afraid something is burning.

Yes this is the smell. Can't stand it. Kids complaint cannot breadth. We pay so much money to have foul smell? Even the Vito also dun have.

My B200 Turbo I had for was coming 5 years, mileage close to 90k, still have that foul smell whenever i whacked....The last trip i made to KL with that car, thinking that if I whacked more, the smell will go away, but it didn't. So bear with it.

Love that car, but I have to let go eventually due to gear box issue. I think the smell is here to stay for a while.

I think I may know what smell you all are talking about. As this only happens when the engine was given a high revs, the smell emitted is likely the 'cooked' engine oil smell. As your B class is designed with the engine very close to the fire wall & probably poorer insulation than other models, the smell is more obvious. I too get this smell for my CGI & my other cars after a spirited drive, but it's only outside the car when I get out. You may want to try to reinforce the insulation of the firewall.

Common issue with a lot of Ah Boys. That's what my techie calls the B class. :becky:

Mine is only when I hit 120km/h then the smell comes out. I realised that closing the air vent helps somewhat. Not a major complaint for me, after I release the pedal to a little under 100, the smell disappears. Anyway, how far can u go on 120 on Sgp Expressways? Haha...

Check light message

Transmission Issue, send back to workshop.

Gears get stuck, on and off. Once you switch off, re-start the car, the message goes off. Signed up warranty with that company TMW/KAR Gear specialist, but they can't solve, so sell off the car to C&C lor to trade in for the C Class lor.

I had this problem with my previous B class. It was later found to be due a part called "enhance flap". (Don't ask me what is that, I also dunno).

After they changed the part, seems like the smell was reduced by 70%. You guys migt want to check with C&C on this.

:shocked::shocked::shocked:

during the 5 years of ownership did you service the GB regularly? anyway, that gear specialist in question almost wrecked my Jag's GB when i got them to service the GB. They used the wrong oil and didn't have the right expertise to drain, fill, flush and fill ... so end up i spent more money to undo their 'help'

Can't believe so many people could recommended that company on so many forums :frown::rolleyes:

I understand what you guys are talking about. I have the same experience but mine is a very slight, almost like a burning smell during hard accelerations. However, it the smell is very mild. My wife does not smell a thing.
