For those who are asking about changing their exos tips.

I've written to LTA to seek nirvana and enlightenment. :lol:

Verbally I've spoke to them and I've also written to them for an official reply!

Verbally informed:

You can cut off sunat your exos tip on the pipe after the exhaust muffler.

U can weld any exos tips from round to oval or trapezoidal or twin exos tips or even 3 exos tips.

U are allow to weld only on the pipe after the exhaust muffler but not on the exos muffler box.

U will not need to seek LTA's approval or an inspection as this is consider not illegal.

Once I get the written reply, probably I will post it here.

I hope this settle any claims that we are not allow to do welding on the exos muffler - yes not on the muffler box but ok on the pipe after the muffler.

Been doing this for most of my cars and have no issue with inspections , as long as it is only the tip that is welded and after the muffler box.

Dear Mr Seah

Please refer to your email dated 12 July 2011.

We would like to inform you that we have no objection to the fitting of

exhaust pipe outlet attachment (by way of welding or screwed on) onto the

original exhaust pipe after the rear muffler so long as this does not

adversely affect the safe operation of the vehicle and the exhaust pipe

outlet attachment is not welded directly to the silencer/muffler. Please

also ensure that the followings are complied with when fitting the exhaust

pipe outlet attachment:

a) the exhaust pipe outlet is installed with sound engineering practice and

must be adequately supported;

B) there is no modification to the other parts of the exhaust system,

unless approved by us;

c) the exhaust pipe does not protrude longitudinally or laterally from the

vehicle;

d) the exhaust pipe outlet is on the off-side or rear of the vehicle; and

e) the vehicle exhaust continues to comply with the applicable exhaust gas

and noise emission standards

Should you require more information on vehicle modifications, you can visit

our 1M portal for a set of vehicle modification guidelines at

http://www.onemotoring.com.sg.

We hope the above clarifies. Should you require further clarifications,

please do not hesitate to contact us at 1800-CALL-LTA (1800 2255 582).

Yours sincerely

Bros,

Those that had mod this with their existing 'stock' twin tail-pipes for C180 with an oval shaped tail-pipes, what's the damage ah?  :D

Damage less than $200

Will changing your exhaust to supersprint exhaust affect the exhaust system of your car?

Affects it positively. From perception to physically more appealing. +hp or not, I cannot tell. But I felt shiok. That's important to me.
