C180k vs avantgarde

Hi guys,

Im actually looking at this series. I've done some research online and notice for the 1.8cc series, mostly discuss the difference between Kompressor and CGI.

Am i right to say that Kompressor and Avantgarde is the same thing?

Also seeking fellow bros expertise on this question? Will the 1.8 (7 gears) be better than 1.6 (5 gears) ?  in terms of FC, which is better?

Thanks!

Dear Mrchoo,

Kompressor for MB stands for Compressor or Supercharged Engine with Supercharger

CGI - Charged Gasoline Injection aka Turbocharged Engine with Turbocharger

Avantgarde is the trim option

Previously they have Avantgarde Trim & Elegant Trim

Nowadays Avantgarde, AMG Line, Exclusive

Have you wonder why MB goes from 5 speed auto to 7G-Tronics & now to 9G-tronics

With more gears, the load on the engine is lesser with lower rev

With lower rev & load also means more fuel efficient when all things are equal and also lesser engine noise with lower engine rev.

Lower load also means lesser wear & tear

When all things are equal, imho the most significant factor for FC is the driver style of driving.

Cheers

I'm a MB Whore! :)
