CLA180 Warranty

hi all

Need some advice here.  I have a CLA 180 that I collected in 15 July 2014.  On the exact same day, 3 years later, the orange engine light came on.  I immediately called C&C workshop and they said ok to continue driving since no vibration, loss of power, etc and make appt online for service.

The earliest appt on line was 28/7.  As i wanted to get this solved asap, I called and C&C managed to expedite my appt to 19/7.  However, after one day in C&C Alexandra on 19/7, the service advisor told me they were unable to trace the problem, although the light remained on.  He told me to take my car home, and bring it back to C&C Alexandra on Monday (24/7) to keep overnight so they can run more tests.  I sent it in yesterday,  and whole day picture no sound.

This morning, another service advisor calls to say that they detected the fault as the Thermostat and some hose, and it would cost $800-900 to repair.  I told him I intended to claim under warranty, as the fault appeared on 15/7/ 2017.  He said cannot, as i only sent the car in on 24/7.  I told him to check his records, and that I had sent it in last week, and they couldnt detect a fault.  I had also called on 15/7 to report the fault, but was advised to send it in later.  Anyway, it seems ridiculous to consider that the fault arose on the day I sent the car in to the workshop.

Any one has any such experience? Will C&C honour the warranty? Or am I wasting my time, and should i just go outside and repair it?

thanks!
