when coming down hill, I find the engine brake of W204 works very well, don't really need to step on much brake

Bro... How to do the engine brake? Becos I ever press the S mode from C mode, and I shift my gear of "D" to + or -, seems like no changes. On the meter, it only show S instead of C. Did not even tell me what gear I am in

Is there a number after the 'S'? Like S1 stands for 1st gear, S2 stands for 2nd gear, etc.

i nv use the manual mode, still in auto .. somehow when going downhill, the ride will auto use engine brake.. can hear the engine sound if you listen carefully when it pulls back the car.

also if i remember correctly, it won't switch gear up for you, it will drag the lower gear together with engine braking.

this car's gearshift algorithm is very smart (compared to some older Jap cars which I've driven before), it will take into consideration the terrain (uphill / downhill)
