A180 using an A200 Rebellion Tuning Box for more Power

Hi everyone,

I own an A180 122ps and I would like more power.

I am interested in the Rebellion tuning box.
However for more power, I would want to fit the A200 tuning box which would generate 190bhp and 300nm as compared to the A180 tuning box generating 144bhp and 250Nm.

Logically it should work, considering they - the A180 and A200- both have the same turbo, gearbox, bore stroke and comp ratio.

Of course, when I contacted Rebellion, they said No, it would not work. But all other mechanics and tuning specialists I've contacted said it should work.

I have also been doing a lot of research and got a confirmation from br-performance (experts in ECU remapping) that they use the same map for the A180 and A200 to produce 175bhp and 310Nm.

Interesting isn't it? So should I go for the A200 tuning box?

Please give me your views.

Thanks,
Yav

Interesting indeed. It will also be interesting to see how 'abused' the car will be.  As long as u are prepared for expensive repairs as factory warranty will definitely be voided....go knock yourself out.
