Dynamic Handling/ Suspension Strut (Electrical connection)

Codered

Recommended Posts

My undercarriage was a bit noisy and did a check.  Found anti-roll bar worn (damper) and stabiliser rod needed replacement.  Was also told that my strut needed replacement (no signs of wear though).  Anyway, I got the anti-roll bar and rod replaced and my ride is much more firmer.  Now come the strut..

My ride (C350 '11) comes with dynamic handling strut and wonder if there's any after market replacement?  Can't seem to find one in the net.  Anyone replaced it with non-dynamic handling function strut, ie standard Bilstein B6, etc..  If you do, what will happen to the electrical cable and how the ECU will respond?  Or is this even possible?

Thanks snsd555. Was searching the site (including mbonline) previously and cannot find a replacement match.

Not sure any bro here have tried with other replacement here? W204 350 so few on the road....

Any idea what will happen if non-dynamic handling strut is used? The original is $1.5k ea😭

sori for late reply.

Full set apprx 4.5 to 5K.

Original will be about 6K.

My system also allows me to lower as required.

If you don't want dynamic, they will short it out with no lost to the other sports mode function.

Did a check and cannot short the signal cable. If we don't connect the cable back, the car will always be on sports mode.

There's no pnp option.

Wonder how all the cars with dynamic option get their suspension system changed or lowered?

I'm going back to oem.

Bro my suspension is dynamic handling with the auto stiffening of the shorts when on sports mode.

I changed my system to KW coilovers which has dynamic handling operating as the original. My system is a plug and play. I also can lower my suspensions which I've done. I got my from Benzline. Autovox also has the system.

When I was searching Autovox had s system which is adjustable from inside the car, but it's not dynamic. To make it work, KW had a module that comes with it which will take care of the shorting or whatever term they use.

However that said, they may not have your car model.

Sorry if I had not given you more details. Unless you don't like KW suspension give Autovox or Benzline a call.

Rgds

Bro thanks. Went down to Benzline and was told no option for me. Maybe like you said there's no aftermarket for my model - no pnp.  We also tried to let the cable lose/open and sports mode cannot function anymore - sports on permanently. Thanks again.
