German tuner Carlsson has teamed up with luxury goods brand Etienne Aigner to create the new Carlsson Aigner CK55 RS Rascasse. Going from a seven-seater to a four-seater, the special edition vehicle is limited to just 20 units, and will be on display at the Geneva Motor Show.

Based on a Mercedes-Benz GL 500, the CK55 pushes the levels of performance with a 456 horsepower V8 engine. The 5.5 liter DOHC V8 normally produces 388 hp and 530 Nm of torque, but has the addition of a remapped computer to boost horsepower. Torque also increases by over 20% to 640 Nm. A free-flow exhaust, metal catalytic converters, new cylinder-heads, and high-lift camshafts also help improve performance.

Three piece forged alloy wheels are surrounded by a highly polished 23-inch outer rim. The wheel used is definitely lightweight, while being strong enough to cope with "unsprung weight of the larger diameter wheels and tyres." Suspension has also been lowered by 40mm, to combine with the wheels and tyres for better handling.

On the outside, Carlsson Aigner's two-tone paint stays constant, this time utilizing wine-red metallic and black. Wider wheel arches and new side skirts are added, as well as inset driving lights, fog lights, and daytime LEDs. The new lighting is built into a bold new front apron extension, giving the vehicle a stronger look.

Inside, leather and Alcantara is used on the seats, dash, door liners, and center console. The headliner is also Alcantara, using a special stitching design pattern. The seven seater was turned into a four seater, giving a wealth of space to rear passengers sitting in the individual seats. A rear compartment hides hand-blown Carlsson-Aigner glasses, for serving your favorite wine.

Luxury is definitely still available in these tough times.
