CLA bonnet struts...

Dropping a note to say thanks to bro jtang for answering my questions which helped tremendously with the install.

 

In short, installation is just like the video and is a 10min job once you get the hang of it and you have the right tools. For the CLA, the only thing not covered in the video was where the 2 washers went (answer: together with the long bolt securing the bottom bracket to the car).

 

Some of my friends and I did it a couple of days back.

Yes....only the 45s have it. The turbo is extremely hot for these models.

Yes...that's the heat shield to keep the hood cool. You can buy it at Goldenlink & fix it. All clips...no drilling. Another GB?? Lol...

Ah ok thanks, mine (non-amg) came with it. In fact, I think all 3 cars (non-amg) I posted have it from factory.

Now it's the 'fake' AMGs...45 turn to install these struts. Over 20 cars ordered these in a GB.

For CLA, there is discussion on using 1 vs 2 strut.

Also seems there is various sources for these bonnet strut.

Maybe some one can revive a GB again.
