Going by the diameters of these 2 tyres (225/40/18= 637.38mm & 245/35/18= 628.88mm), there is a difference 8.5mm. As long as the diameter difference is less than 1.5%...it's ok. In this case, your difference is 1.3%.... so no worries, it will not affect your speedo reading much. 

Do note that the steering feel will be much heavier...sure you want to do this?

Thanks jtang.

Find the present wheel a bit on the thin side. Saw the diameter inside the fuel cap. Might consider when due for tyre change.    

Was also thinking to change to non-RFT tyres but worry no spare tyre....Had bad experience before on non-RFT, seriously think need to have spare tyre just in case.
