Any thoughts on the CLA?

 

 

I was intending to do that but not now, maybe at the 5,000km mark.

I haven't had the spare time lately to write up on my ride, and any thoughts would be a bit premature now.

 

But to your other reply, my sentiments are like what Jamon had said.

 

You can't compare it with a higher class.

^{Did a comparison with the A4 and 3 series before I bought this car, and its definitely much better than the A4. the 3 obviously was the best drive, but looks wise, the CLA wins anytime.}

10/03: Interior Styling - Stainless Steel Foot rest

I received this Stainless Steel foot rest last week but I had a busy schedule to spend time to post about it.

According to the seller, it is made of high quality stainless steel and is laser cut.

 

Behind the stainless steel foot rest, there's two long vertical velcro strips on the right and left side. This allows the foot rest to stay in place when laid over the carpet.

I, personally, have a habit of resting my left foot at the left most corner. I read from others that overtime the carpet will show signs of wear.

That was the major triggering point for this purchase.

I received this Stainless Steel foot rest last week but I had a busy schedule to spend time to post about it.

According to the seller, it is made of high quality stainless steel and is laser cut.

 

Behind the stainless steel foot rest, there's two long vertical velcro strips on the right and left side. This allows the foot rest to stay in place when laid over the carpet.

I have the exact one that wzz got and I've taken them down Just after few months of using it. FOC for anyone who is willing to pick it up from my place at Marymount (pm me if u keen). I bought this from eBay when I collected my W176 in May 2013. I'm sorry to say that though it looks good at first, the Velcro stuck behind will fall off in a few months and is prone to slide off/ mis-align. I've stopped using them and it's been in my store room since.

Recently found this (link below) on eBay and offered A$40 which was accepted by seller. Find it a much better built quality and best of all it protects the edge of the footrest. Just my 1 cent.

How's the footrest that you bought from eBay in terms of velcro sticking to the mat? I'm about to purchase from the seller from eBay but he is not willing to offer A$40. Did you pay for the shipping charges?

Hi wywong, Velcro is almost entire metal piece but the thing that I prefer is the corner "down-turn" so it protects the edge of the carpet. I paid A$40 + A$25 for item + postage.

It would have been helpful if I knew this earlier.

Oh well. Since I've already bought it, it will have to do. I'll see how it goes from here and will update accordingly (if it does become misaligned after months of usage with my lifestyle, lol).

I've actually seen this. I've contemplated and mulled over which to purchase.

In my opinion, I think the one in the above link is a bit too long and it gives an impression of being "too much going on" at the left side. It didn't really look "subtle" enough for my liking.

 

So in the end, I caved in to the one with the three-pointed star design.

I got the same issue, afterwhich i got the 3M velcro strip to replace the orginal strip and it's ok now.

That cover just sticks over the catch. I believe it's universal, based on the idea that the catch dimension are universal - but I won't be able to confirm that q.
