Hi all, I bought a second hand 2007 c200 Kompressor Supercharge w204(?) recently, a note "Check Eng. Oil when next refuelling" comes out, and I understand that the engine oil level is low which I did check.

I am thinking to buy engine oil (different brands or similar >5w30) and refill it myself is that okay?

Will the "message" indicator of the disappear after refilled?

Do I need to clean the remaining engine oil before putting new engine oil because of different brand?

Or do I have to bring it back to Merc Service Centre to do it for me?

Please advise gents, thanks for your time.

Did you send it to Vicom for pre-inspection before purchase? Engine oil level low is rare for mercs, not like bmw which is a common issue. Is better For you to send your car to ws for a check at once coz you wouldnt want your engine up lorry that will cost you more!!

I suggest you get your mechanic to have a look. If the message come out, I suggest you not drive your car as the lack of lub might damage your engine.

if its still in the Lemon period, contact your seller asap.

I found a preowned C180 with an A grading by STA report done by the agent. It does not say anything abt it being accident free. I only get verbal guarantee that it's accident free. Will that be ok? Also will the service credit from C&C be transferred to me?

Service credits are non-transferable unfortunately.

Yes, service credits is not transferable to other vehicle, it's stick to the car, not the owner, so if buy a used car with available service credit, then you will have the service credit instead of the ex-owner.

But i was infomed by agent that its neither transferable nor follow owner. Once u sell car, its gone...
