How to check what version of Command is your ride? I couldn't find if mine is the latest version 4.5 or not.

Does your car come with the built in navigation and SD card slot at the headunit (HU)? If yes then you have the Comand system, if not then you have the base HU unit which is the Audio 20 system.

 

Is your W212 facelift or pre-facelift?

For facelift model, Comand version should be NTG4.7.

For pre-facelift, it could be NTG4.0, NTG4.5, or NTG4.7.

 

Some differences:

NTG4.0 does not have online connectivity function, it does not have the globe icon on the top menu bar.

Physical differences, instead of having a SD card slot built into the HU, NTG4.0 has a PCMCIA slot:

 

If your HU has a SD card slot, it's either NTG4.5 or NTG4.7:

 

You can tell the difference between NTG4.5 and NTG4.7 by the look of the interface:

Do note both 4.5 and 4.7 have the globe icon on the top menu bar. It shows the system has data connectivity function, which allows you to surf the web.

Open your drivers door. They'll be a sticker there with your ViN number printed on it.

Yes C207. Facelifted model comes with Comand Online NTG 4.7. Latest version.

you can also find it on your vehicle log card from LTA ... example mine is wdd2040412A056XXX ...

it is usually call vin number - (vin - vehicle identification number)

I did mine at EleBest too, with Max.  He did a good job for me. 

 

He does a lot more BMWs, apparently they have more mods.
