Switching Parking Gear to Driving Gear

Birdbrain

Recommended Posts

Hi, I have been driving W204 for almost a year. I have been encountering this problem more frequently. When I shift from Parking Mode to Driving Mode, I find it difficult to shift the gear (like jammed) and at times, there was a loud noise from the gear box when I shift the gear. Anyone encounter this problem?  Thanks in advance.

i do hear this noticeable gear change sound from my previous ride but not my w204 yet....but do ur car jerk when u do hear this sound?

The world Most dangerous thing is the Vehicle. Its not about the machine weather its slow or fast. Its the person who is controlling it. The driver is the brain of the Machine. Not the machine itself.

If the driver reacts slow even the most powerful ABS(Auto braking system) will not help. The driver has to give the car the command in Order for the car to react. Afterall he is the brain of the car.

Bro. I had the same prob. Went to service advisor. He shook head and told me, "It's like that" and I'm like... Jialat... Maybe wrong investment...

But anyway, I changed my brake pads to ATE when I change my rims and I realised that the jerk kinda noise was gone! So my take is that the stock brake pad giving prob.

I also thought it didn't make any sense, since it sounded like coming from gear box.

You might wanna give it a try.

Pump the brake pedal 2-3 times after releasing the parking brake then the change will be smoother..have the same problem with my c180 7G..seems that it is the locking mechanism on the gear..
