30k servicing - for sharing

I believe your car is still under warranty & that you have no choice but to use C&C. At the price that you paid...you could have done an equivalent Service B job outside. I strongly suggest that you change the transmission oil at 30k km...outside of course!

I did my 30k last year... At carrot & carrot... Still feeling the pain. Resolve to be a bit more diligent and do my research and get all the wear and tear parts done outside and do the minimum at C&C to maintain warranty...

Does that mean that we can do tear & wear replacement outside c&c and still would not void warranty? Mind sharing what's the "minimum" (or what u have done outside)? Thanks.

Yesterday did my 30K km servicing at Pandan Loop!

Part 1

Last year bought a $188 servicing package at Pandan Loop open house

Yesterday did a full Service A + additional job of engine flush + additive = $79.02

Insisted on Mobile 1 instead of Shell Helix - No extra charge!

Total cost $188 + $79.20 = $267.02 - Zero payment - all from service credits :)

Sent car at 9.00am - collected at 4.30pm :D

Today will do Part 2

Bought parts from Goldenlink and service to be done at AutoSprize - to be continue

12427684253_8f8961d299_c.jpg

Bought along my service booklet to be filled by the SA for job done - chopped and signed by CnC SE

Service booklet is usually not given when you buy a car from CnC but normally I will demand one.

Customer rights mah! :)

They will try to snook you by telling you that your service records are on-line - yes in their sever which you have no access.

I will tell them the owner manual mention there's one and they must give me one! :)

Service booklet duly filled chopped and signed!

12428161534_4fe9a32dea_c.jpg

Part 2 to be continued:-

1. Change front & rear brake pads to ATE Ceramic pads + sensors

2. Change engine air filter

3. Change aircon air filter

4. Drain transmission oil and top up (not inclusive in service B  )

5. Transmission oil filter (not inclusive in Service B  )

6. Transmission oil pan gasket (not inclusive in Service B  )

Now at AutoSpritze!

Met  Mark with Ah Boon - nice weather! :)

Personally, I don't know what will or will not void the warranty lah. Using common sense loh, and have to check the warranty terms and conditions to try and figure out what can do outside. Still learning but I personally guess wear and tear items which are not covered by warranty should be fair game. If not covered then why void my warranty if I change outside, right?

Fierce, looks like need to get one as well. Really must scrutize the line items in the various service packages and do the required items via both C&C and outside sources... looks like C&C packages might also be lacking in somethings! :startle:

Time to share total damage for 30K km servicing + additional work (Engine Flushing + Transmission Oil Flushing and Transmission Oil Change)

To save some $$$ ran around the whole day!

Went to Golden Link - no air filter, no rear ATE brake padand give me the wrong transmission oil.

LL has to go Chip Soon to buy and change the rear brake pads there.

A. Here's the total damage equilvalent to Service B and not inclusive of additional work done out of Service B.

1. Service A - Done at Pandan Loop :- $188.00 (Package bought at Open house inclusive of Mobil 1 engine oil & filter) Inclusive of GST

2. Change Front and Rear brake pads to ATE (after 30k km I reckon my stock pads still has 30% to 40% left) + front brake sensor + Air filter + Flush brake fluid = $197.95 + $197.95 + 187.25 + 7.49 = $590.64 (inclusive of GST)

3. Air con cabin filter + labor = $107,00

Total 1 to 3 equilvalent to Service B = $188.00 + $590.64 + $107.00 = $885.64 nett inclusive of GST

(Engine Oil change, Oil Filter Change, Air Filter Change, Aircon cabin filter change + Front and rear brake pad change (ATE ceramic) + Flushing Brake Fluid + Checks + Engine Diagnostic Checks + Car wash + Windscreen Wiper Fuild + Labor)

B. Additional backside itchy job done out of service B

1. Engine Flush with Additive at CnC + Labor = $79.02

2. Transmission Oil Flush + Transmission Oil Change (5.5L) + Transmission Oil Filter change + Transmission Pan Gasket Change + Labor = $209 + $130 = $339.00 x 7% GST = $362.73- This one poisoned by Bro Supervirus jtang - Told the workshop to drain but they flushed and change   :( or else will be cheaper

Total additional job done not in Service B= $79.02 + $362.73 = $441.75

Grand total damage item above A + B = 885.64 + 441.75 = $1327.39 less  CnC service credit ($188.00 + 79.02) = $1060.37 nett cash

1. Went to Goldenlink Kaki Bukit Road 1 twice - 1st to buy 2nd to get refund on wrong transmission oil sold.

2. Went to AutoSpritze twice - They left out Air filter change and Brake Fuild flushing

3. Went to Chip Soon to change and replace rear ATE ceramic brake pads (Golden link has front pads only)

Like a working day but worth the $$$ spent!

nice one kepiting1sg! I also want to request for service bookklet leh! Damn! Issit too late now? LOL

anyway, after 30km your brakepad botak already meh? Or you change because of your preference for ATE ceramic pad?

Not too late lah! This is a generic Service Booklet applicable to all class of MB.

Important is that you have it and you can get it filled up with your VRN & service records endorsed by CnC each time you go servicing.

F$#k regards to their mother if they tell you all serice records online which owners have no access!

Look through your Owner Manual, there's a section of keeping your service record in the Service Booklet.

Go back to your SE and point it out that your SE owe you your Service Booklet.

For 30K km, my style of driving as if no brakes to have good FC, I saw the pads when they changed them still has about 30% to 40% left.

I wanna try out the ATE Ceramic brakes to see how less brake dust it will generate.

Cheers

Just checked that CnC do not carry servixe booklet already

The world Most dangerous thing is the Vehicle. Its not about the machine weather its slow or fast. Its the person who is controlling it. The driver is the brain of the Machine. Not the machine itself.

If the driver reacts slow even the most powerful ABS(Auto braking system) will not help. The driver has to give the car the command in Order for the car to react. Afterall he is the brain of the car.

AutoSpritze

you also need ttransmission oil filter & gasket cover.

viagra for 7Gtronics!

E arh! Short of taxi meter & roof sign. :)

Back to bigger foot print.

I had before a 2010 W212 but old 5 speed.

7Gtronics runs quieter due to lower rpm.
