Can pre FL w204 bluetooth be upgraded such that music can also be played?

the current bluetooth can only answer calls. anyway to upgrade the bluetooth such that music can also be streamed?

Cheap option.... buy a belkin aircast. Google it to see if matches what u want. It's not perfect but it can do

The W204 Pre FL is able to do the Bluetooth audio streaming but not in a economy way. First of all, you need to have Comand installed and also the UCI (Universal Communication Interface) in place, then you add a Media Interface Plus and you can do the Bluetooth audio streaming for music.

When you say to have Comand installed, is it just a software installation or whole hardware installation?

If my existing system is to be integrated with a 3rd party GPS and reverse camera (CnC put into package deal), what do I stand to gain from this upgrade with NTG4.5?

You can use back the reverse camera. The GPS from 3rd part might not be used back, because the screen resolution changed if your audio 20 goes to the Comand.

Basically, there is no upgrade from Audio 20 (your existing audio) to Comand Online NTG4.5 as hardware is completely different (Manufacturer also not the same, Audio 20 made by Panasonic and Comand NTG4.5 produced by Mitsubishi).

 

We can retrofit the Comand APS NTG4 to your ride means we have to change the display and headunit.

The aftermarket navigation and backup camera fitted by C&C not really integrated with car's network and therefore the convenience of using the aftermarket product not as good as original one but the map content the aftermarket product is a bit ahead of Mercedes's original map.

 

As far as the backup camera concerned, the aftermarket market using the Multimedia Interface to send the parking camera video signal to the display and it will cause some delay (0.5-1 sec) to display the camera video signal when the reverse gear engaged. Thus, the backup camera screen display almost instantly when reverse gear engaged as long as it works with Comand APS/Online.

 

We can connect your current backup camera to the Comand APS.

 

Hopefully, above information helps you to make a decision whether should go ahead to do the retrofit.

One more thing on the aftermarket system: it is made from Singapore Local developer with SLA data, and full postal code search.

And much cheaper than Comand system, that's why C&C install it for you.

Seems it's not worthwhile to install both system at the same car if your ride doesn't come with the GPS & Camera fitted by C&C. Thus, we're offering discount for those owners who got the aftermarket GPS and backup camera fitted by C&C, please PM to check the price for the Comand NTG4.5 Retrofit.
