  1. Tks Superman. I understand that. That's what the workshop tells me too, that the original is from Germany. But how do I know I am really getting a bona fide German made original kit? I may end up paying the price of a "Original" kit but end up with a Taiwan made kit Maybe I can I ask for their purchase invoice but that wont look good leh. And someone mentioned Miracle Workz above. Are they the same as Miracle Body Workz ? Is this recommended reliable workshop? Miracle Body Workz at 48 Toh Guan Road East #04-126 Enterprise Hub S(608586)
  2. Tks Superman u r right. The OEM kits r made in Taiwan and very cheap. BUT are the genuine kit made in Germany and by Mercedes AMG? And who are selling the genuine kit? How do we even know they r genuine and not OEM kits?
  3. Thanks folks for the feedback. And I agree with your comments. However the so called "AMG" line that c&c sells as a kit does not have the same goodies as similar kits in the USA or Europe. For e.g. AMG line in Europe includes sun-roof and Avantgarte line in US comes with 18" rims in some US dealers. Also, a distinction has to be made between a simple "AMG" kit from c&c and a full C63 AMG and Barbarus kit which are only installed in outside workshop. These come with Quad exhausts or tips and Diffusers and some also have Vavletronic management systems and c63 Bonnets. However what i meant to ask was the difference in the pricing of the same kits from outside workshops. Sorry i was not very clear in my question. If u take a look for example at a full c63 AMG kit which includes quads exhausts and c63 bonnet etc, there is a huge difference in pricing from over $5k to over $18k. I wont name the workshops and can pm if u need a quote. But I struggle to understand the difference in pricing for what is apparently the same full c63 AMG kit? Are the cheaper workshops using inferior ill-fitting kits or are the more expensive workshops taking us for a ride?
  4. Hi whats the difference between the "original c63 amg kit" and the other similar kits? Is the material inferior or is the fitting bad? Tks
  5. Hi folks my old C300 w204 will hit 10 years next year and I was planning on extending the COE as I like the 3L V6 (they don't sell this any more in Singapore I think). However the wife wants to buy new W205 and although I agree the new C Class does look rather nice I have some personal reservations and concerns; 1) The C180 and C200 that is within our tight budget is made in South Africa. My current ride was made in German by Daimler AG; 2) They have down sized the cc and but increased the bhp generally I think? 3) Much more of the new cars are automated with more PCBs and chips. So well...more things can go wrong? As the w205 has been around for afew years now, can the current owners provide some guidance please? What are the common issues as the car ages? To be honest my 9year old C300 has also failed. ECU died 3 years back. Steerwheel lock problem etc so I wonder what known issues the w205 suffers as the mileage climbs. And yeah, I also took a look at the 4 series GranCoupe and it looks so nice and offers greater delivery and drive in a similarly packaged 2L 4cylinder engine (pushing 240bhp). So any comments on this is also welcomed although I expect some amount of flaming as this is a Merc forum. Do I 1) Renew and Keep my C300 or 2) Buy new W205 or 3) Buy 4series GranCoupe Tks again for your guidance and comments bros.
  6. Hi I am having mine done at MBM. c&c quoted me SGD1,200 for Engine and Gearbox mount. MBM quote much less and you can talk to Chloe. Btw when should we replace this? I was also told by c&c to replace tumble flap for intake manifold - $3500 (c&c price) and a whole long list of other parts. These are still functioning but replacement is recommeneded due to wear and tear Total damage if I fix at c&c is well above SGD11k I am doing these at MBM. My vehicle mileage is close to 80k km. So when do we usually replace these items? Or can we wait abit longer? Tks for the guidance bros.
  7. 6 cylinder is considered "big cc"? I bought the ride second hand because I wanted a V6 and the c300 is quite rare in Singapore. Its no longer available for sale. I think its also because 90% of my route is in CBD congested area.....:(

  9. Yeah I like to know too. same issue for my 2009 w204. Btw this wont happen if they were ceramic. U expect such wear n tear from cheap plastic.....
  10. c300 V6 w204 7Gtronic 2009 old model. I get only 7-8km per liter on SPC 98. My FC really suxs But FYI I calculate the FC manually by topping up full tank, then record mileage and top up full tank again and finally I divide distance travelled by the liters topped up. This is the trusted way to get FC as the car OBC recording is always giving inaccurate number.
  11. Thank you JFCC. That helps. I received a letter from c&c afew months back concerning a recall related to this issue. Perhaps it is covered under mass recall. Did you receive the letter? It was by AR Registered post and I had to go to Singpost to collect it on Saturday.
  12. Ok tks I will do that then. That helps a lot. BTW how much did it cost to fix the issue? I assume its just replacement of faulty sensors? Tks
  13. Yeah is my turn. ABS, ESP and EBV inoperative all at once. I remember afew months ago c&c issued a letter to recall the vehicles to fix this? I also lost power steering. But strangely after I went home and restarted the engine, everything is normal and has been fine for afew days now. M not sure whether I should send the car in now. I read in some forums simply restarting engine or doing steering wheel reset may solve the issue.
