Renew COE for E-Class W211

Recommended Posts

Just toying with the idea of getting a W211 NGT and when time is up, renew COE also. Just getting conflicting views on the NGT pumps.

What kind of views you referring at ?

Some said, if don't use the NGT at all also cannot, might have the engine check lights switch on.

And the NGT pumps is freaking XX.. easily 5 figures and can ONLY be replaced at AD.

By the NGT is " Natural Gas Tech". Also not much service stations have CNG.

Most of us NGT's driver only uses petrol nowaday.

Can forget the CNG.

Yeah especially if the car in question has been very reliable. PARF guesstimate 20+K range with an approx $8K in annual depreciation assuming current PQP.

Mine (E230) not due until July 2017.

Will seriously consider to renew COE as it has been a superb ride so far albeit the dreaded 7G Transmission common fault that I experienced just last week .

Wonder what's the PQP gonna be like by then?

My PARF is $20,119.

May 2016 - PQP for CatB is $46,048.

Total damage : $20,119 + $46,048 = $66,167.

Divide by 10 years, so annual depreciation for my E200NGT is $6,616.70 per year.

Monthly depreciation is $551.

Can consider to renew it ?

There are afew items that are expensive to replace as those are also considered wear and tear items.

the Cam gears are known to wear out and lose a couple of teeth but the good thing is that the engine will throw out fault codes that tells you that it needs replacing. the timing chain can also get dislodge from the gears and your engine blows up.

Torque converter on the gear box is the next thing that is expensive to replace ( 2k++)

other than that, i feel the w211 is a very built car and built to last.

Thanks for the reply.

Was looking around sgcarmart, seem that there are normal and avantgarde model.

What is the different in the diff model? Any easiest way to differentiate?

I think Avantgarde model have xenon headlight, dashboard is white vs black

Also, suspension suppose to be lower

Hi,

What Bro AHYEO meant as White dashboard refer to the speedo and rpm dial background colour and fuel/temp gauge. White instead of black colour. Apart from the above-mentioned, I also observed Avantgarde model has :

1) headlamp washer

2) bluish tinted windows
